Learning Specialist

Position: Executive Function Coach/Learning Specialist

About the Job: Supporting students with academics as well as organization (executive function coaching). Training is provided on coaching, but must have experience with tutoring and supporting students with diverse emotional, educational, or mental health needs. Mostly will be working with students ages 10-18 on managing time, goals, and staying on top of academics. Must be comfortable working with kiddos who need extra patience and support. The population we work with typically have ADHD, anxiety, depression, eating or mood disorders, and ASD. Will be supported with school meetings and reading reports/appropriate support plan for kiddos.

About us: We are not a typical tutoring company at NeuroPlay Academics, as we work collaboratively with the students, parents, providers, and schools. We work as a team and are pretty mellow with scheduling, as you set the pace and calendar.

Typical start time: 3PM

Typical end time: 8PM

Education: Master’s preferred

Experience: Working with kids 10-18 who have mental health or academic struggles, tutoring or teaching elementary/middle school/high school subjects

Work Location: Palo Alto and surrounding areas

Schedule: Flexible

Pay: $90.00 per hour

The position is part-time. Most employees are in school or have another job (like teaching, ABA, in the education realm). Most employees range from 2-25 hours per week. It is flexible, as you design your own hours and student load. Usually hours are after-school.

Preference given to those who love what they do, have a masters degree, background in special education and/or years of experience
