The role of the Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - ELL is to provide support to students & staff in the Primary phase of the school. The Learning Support Assistant will support the teachers in enhancing the effective involvement of students in their academic and social development.Reporting To: Primary ELL CoordinatorResponsibilities: · Provide in-class support for students with a language barrier to support them in articulating their understanding through use of adapted materials· Support & work alongside teachers planning to support students’ learning, specifically those with a language barrier.· Preparing the learning environment under the direction of the ELL teacher i.e preparing classroom materials, equipment & supplies.· Monitor, maintain & review records of student progress and provide support based on their needs.· Support ELL teachers with admin tasks and assessment facilitation during testing periods· Support with field trips, group activities, sports events or other events as required.· Support specific groups of students in lessons so that they may access learning at their own pace.· Take not of student challenges and successes to help direct further progress.· To cover ELL teaching (under supervision) as and when appropriateJob Specification: • The candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant experience working in an international school• The candidate should hold a degree i.e., B.Ed. or a B.A in English or equivalent• Fluent English speakers available to work from 7 am – 4.30 pm.• Strong work ethic along with a commitment to staff & student privacy.• Good organisational and interpersonal skills. • Strong written & oral communication skills in English• Knowledge of other languages is an advantageCandidates are invited to complete our Online Application by visiting:
