Learning Support Teacher

Great Valley High School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Learning Support Teacher to join its team. The ideal candidate will deliver an engaging education experience to maximize the academic, social and emotional needs of special needs students. We are looking for a candidate with a strong commitment to cultural understanding, inclusive teaching practices, and collaborative professional growth.
Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, testing, and diagnostic evaluations to identify student learning challenges and recommend appropriate interventions or corrective strategies to enhance educational outcomes.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs and support their implementation
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with district policies and legal requirements, including post-secondary planning and communication with prospective colleges and employers.
• Foster strong partnerships with families by encouraging parental involvement and maintaining consistent, effective communication with students and their guardians.

Qualifications

• Valid PA teacher certification in Special Education
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Knowledge of special education principles, theories, testing, and differentiated instruction methods
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding the education of special needs students

2025-2026 Salary Schedule:
Experience calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10
