Position Summary
The Lecturer in Medical Education will contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of undergraduate medical education programs. The role focuses on enhancing teaching quality, curriculum development, assessment strategies, and faculty development in line with international standards in medical education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching in medical education and related subjects to undergraduate students
- Participate in curriculum design, development, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Implement innovative teaching methodologies, including problem-based learning (PBL) and simulation-based education
- Develop and evaluate student assessment tools (OSCEs, MCQs, formative and summative assessments)
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students
- Support faculty development programs and workshops on teaching and assessment
- Contribute to accreditation processes and quality assurance activities
- Engage in educational research and scholarly activities in medical education
- Participate in academic committees and departmental meetings
- Contribute to community engagement and university service activities
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master's degree in Medical Education, Health Professions Education, or a related field (PhD preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Medicine (MBBS) or a relevant health sciences discipline is highly desirable
- Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience in medical or health professions education
- Strong understanding of modern teaching strategies, curriculum design, and assessment methods
- Experience with accreditation standards (e.g., NCAAA, WFME) is an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to use educational technologies and e-learning platforms
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment
Preferred Competencies
- Experience in problem-based learning (PBL) facilitation
- Knowledge of competency-based medical education (CBME) frameworks
- Research experience or publications in medical education
- Familiarity with simulation-based training and clinical skills teaching
