Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in filing procedures in federal courts across the country, including the ability to file documents under seal. This role demands a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently and is familiar with legal documentation and court rules. This position will pay a minimum of $36 per hour. Candidates with more experience will be paid accordingly and are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, file, and organize legal documents for federal courts, ensuring compliance with all filing requirements.
- Manage electronic filing procedures in various federal courts across the country, including filings under seal.
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including document review, citation checking, and maintaining case files with a high degree of accuracy.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of court rules and deadlines, ensuring timely submissions.
- Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role, especially regarding sensitive legal matters.
- Other duties as assigned by senior legal staff.
Required Qualifications:
- At least two years experience as a legal administrative assistant or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage high case load/volume.
- Significant experience with PACER/ECF for electronic filing in federal courts.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, processes, and documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and exercise initiative and good judgment.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing demands, volumes, and schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Legal Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with case management systems, preferably NetDocuments, and e-discovery platforms, preferably Everlaw.
- Experience collaborating with multiple attorneys and paralegals simultaneously
