Ward and Smith, P.A. is a growing full-service law firm with multiple offices throughout The Carolinas. We pride ourselves in providing quality service to our clients through a culture of teamwork and collegiality. We are seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Litigation Practice in our Raleigh office.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to: supporting attorneys and paralegals in the Litigation section, primarily the Energy and Utilities group, by creating, proofing, editing, revising, and printing correspondence, memoranda, and legal documents; conferring with clients; maintaining calendars; and managing files. On an as-needed basis, the Administrative Assistant will also assist in planning and coordinating energy and utilities related professional functions.
Applicants should be multi-task oriented, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to function well in a fast-paced environment, be a proactive team player, detail-oriented, and be able to manage competing priorities. Applicants should be able to type a minimum of 65 wpm and possess strong grammar and punctuation skills. Successful candidates will be technology savvy and have advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A minimum of an Associate's Degree preferred and 1 to 3 years of experience in a professional services environment required. Accounting or banking experience a plus. Prior experience in planning and coordination professional functions including establishing/maintaining vendor relationships required. Occasional overtime may occur on an as needed basis. Some night and weekend work will be required on an occasional basis.
