Paralegal - Labor and Employment

Ward and Smith, P.A. is a growing full-service law firm with multiple offices throughout the Carolinas. We are seeking a Labor and Employment Paralegal to join our Asheville, New Bern, Raleigh, or Wilmington office.

The role of the Labor and Employment Paralegal includes, but is not limited to, supporting attorneys and other paralegals in the Labor and Employment Section in the acceptance, organization, investigation and resolution of labor and employment matters; drafting court documents, correspondence, and memos; drafting discovery as well as complex pleadings, conferring with all parties involved; docketing; keeping schedules; maintaining files; monitoring progress; and following up to ensure all required actions are completed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic; exceptional time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent client communications and service; proficient technology skills, including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite, PDF, and general online research; and meticulous attention to detail with strong proofreading skills. The paralegal must be able to work independently, collaborating with team members as needed.

A Bachelor's Degree or a combination of three – five years' experience with an Associate's Degree from an Accredited Paralegal Technology Program through the American Bar Association. Must have a NC Notary Public commission or the ability to obtain same.

We are offering a generous sign on bonus of $5,000 to direct hires for this position.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
