<Duties>
- Manage and organize legal documents using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case preparation across various practice areas including patent law, tribal law & regulations, workers' compensation law, and personal injury law.
- Assist with legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and review of contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents to maintain high standards of clarity and precision.
- Support litigation activities by reviewing case files, preparing summaries, and coordinating document review processes.
- Maintain detailed case management records, track deadlines, and organize filings in compliance with court requirements.
- Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, handling correspondence with clients and courts, and maintaining effective phone etiquette.
- Perform data entry tasks related to client information and case details while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate with attorneys on project management tasks related to estate planning, environmental law projects, or other specialized practice areas.
- Assist in interviewing clients or witnesses as needed for case development or fact-finding purposes.
- Support the firm’s overall administrative functions through filing, document scanning, transcription services, and general clerical tasks.
<Experience>
- Proven paralegal experience or legal administrative experience supporting multiple practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law or tribal regulations.
- Familiarity with legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis is essential for effective case preparation.
- Experience working with document management systems like iManage or similar platforms is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading accuracy is critical.
- Demonstrated ability to perform legal research efficiently to support attorneys’ strategic objectives.
- Proficiency in project management tools or software that facilitate workflow coordination within a busy law office environment.
- Exceptional clerical skills including data entry, filing procedures, phone etiquette, and organizational tasks that uphold professional standards.
- Knowledge of various practice areas such as UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), patent law procedures, landlord-tenant issues or immigration law enhances versatility in supporting diverse cases.
