Legal and Compliance Manager (QSTP)
Job Purpose: To assist in the resolution of legal and compliance issues by conducting background research, initiating, and responding to legal and compliance actions, and compiling and preparing required actions.
Key Result Areas:

Serve as a primary source of legal information and ensure the consistency of advice provided to all relevant stakeholders.

Draft, review, and assist in negotiating contracts to serve the best interests of QSTP and ensure the enforceability of contracts.

Monitor and advise on QSTP's compliance with the QF internal & external rules (QF Governance Manual, internal QF Laws, Regulations and Policies & Procedures, etc.)

Advise on QSTP's compliance with the Qatari Law and any other applicable law to mitigate the risk of legal action against QSTP.

Evaluate and report non-compliances or alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and/or the QF Code of Conduct by instructing control improvements or initiating investigative procedures.

Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations as appropriate and/or required.

Guide, mentor and advise the business on compliance-related matters.

Review exception reports and provide recommendations on decisions' adequacy.

Design and deliver training sessions to QSTP employees (when necessary) to enhance the development of a strong corporate compliance and control culture.

Track and report activity status, issues, risks, escalations, and decisions for management

Represent QSTP in meetings with the QSTP senior management to provide legal assistance as required.

Follow up on legal agreements to ensure that they are properly elaborated and completed and respond to any pertinent questions.

Liaise with and advise QSTP's departments on legal issues to ensure compliance with QF's legal framework for contracts and agreements.

Liaise with and coordinate with QSTP/ QF external legal counsels to resolve legal issues and ensure the rights and interests of the QSTP.

Manage the drafting and filing of legal issues, including coordination with contracted external legal counsels.

Manage contracted external legal counsels and provide annual feedback to line manager about their benefits and outcomes.

Coordinate the preparation of summary presentations and documentation for management reviews and presentations to collaborating parties.

Other reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in law.

8-10 years of relevant full-time work experience in an industrial or corporate environment, with significant research, commercial, and contractual experience, 3 of which at a supervisory level.

Excellent organization and time management skills as well as thorough attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, teamwork, and negotiation skills

Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
