A well-established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant to support a high-volume defense practice . This is a full-time, in-office position supporting three attorneys (two Partners and one Associate) .


Position Overview


The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, highly organized legal assistant with substantial defense-side Workers’ Compensation experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage competing priorities with precision and professionalism.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive legal support to multiple attorneys in a high-volume Workers’ Compensation defense practice
  • Manage heavy calendaring, deadlines, and docket control
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, and routine filings
  • Handle ECF, DOAH, and PACER filings
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers, record retrieval vendors, and third-party portals
  • Maintain case files, manage discovery, and ensure compliance with carrier guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and vendors


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 consecutive years as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm
  • Minimum 2 consecutive years of Workers’ Compensation defense experience (required)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Proficiency in civil litigation procedures, including deadline management and docketing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with DOAH, ECF filings, and PACER
  • Familiarity with insurance carrier guidelines and vendor portals
  • Experience with Litify and/or Salesforce is a plus


Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting salary: $53,000
