Legal Assistant

<Job Summary>
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and research support across a variety of legal practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, and more. Your enthusiasm for legal work, combined with excellent organizational skills and a passion for accuracy, will help ensure smooth case management and efficient office operations. <Responsibilities>

  • Assist attorneys with legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research tools to gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations across diverse practice areas such as tribal law, patent law, workers' compensation law, and landlord-tenant law
  • Prepare and draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, memos, and correspondence with precision and clarity
  • Manage legal case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure accurate filing, data entry, and document review
  • Conduct thorough document review and proofreading to verify accuracy and consistency before submission or filing
  • Support litigation processes through document review, case organization, and coordination of discovery materials
  • Maintain organized calendars for court deadlines, client meetings, and internal appointments to ensure timely compliance
  • Provide executive administrative support by managing phone inquiries with professional etiquette, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings

<Experience>

  • Proven paralegal experience or legal administrative experience in a fast-paced law office environment
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures across multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, patent law, tribal regulations, and workers' compensation law
  • Familiarity with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; experience with legal case management software preferred
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting memos, reports, and correspondence that are clear and well-structured
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Experience with document management systems like iManage or similar platforms for file organization and retrieval
  • Strong attention to detail for proofreading documents and ensuring accuracy in all work products
  • Effective interviewing skills for gathering information from clients or witnesses when needed
  • Knowledge of project management principles to coordinate tasks effectively within deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.29 - $32.00 per hour
