We are looking for a self motivated Legal Assistant to ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism continuously
  • Juggle a high volume of critical tasks and prioritize administrative duties
  • Manage and coordinate calendars, meetings, and travel of attorney and paralegals
  • Anticipate obstacles and creatively/strategically provide solution
  • Approach challenges with a solutions-minded perspective
  • Perform successfully in high pressure situations with strict deadlines
  • Possess professional phone etiquette
  • Craft, proofread, and/or edit correspondence on behalf of the firm
  • Handle a variety of ad hoc requests by researching information and conducting analyses
  • Partner with other members of the administration staff on various projects
  • Manage, prioritize, and respond to routine email, standard mail, and other incoming requests as needed
  • Maintain file and record retention

Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as legal assistant or legal secretary
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a law office preferred
  • 3 - 5 years administrative experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
  • Notary Public preferred, or willingness to become notary
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Maintain composure and calm demeanor in variety of challenging situations
  • Possess high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the firm
  • Demonstrate high level of proficiency with MS Office
  • Flexibility for overtime when needed
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Microsoft Office: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Legal or Administrative Assistant: 3 years (Preferred)
