We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with legal case management by organizing and maintaining case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, memos, and correspondence with precision and clarity
- Manage document review processes and ensure accuracy in all filings and submissions
- Support litigation activities by preparing discovery materials, coordinating depositions, and tracking case deadlines
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry, filing, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars for attorneys
- Conduct client interviews and gather relevant information to assist in case preparation across various practice areas like personal injury law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and immigration law
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while ensuring compliance with legal standards and procedures
- Provide excellent clerical support including phone etiquette, transcription services, proofreading documents, and organizing legal files
Requirements
*MUST BE SPANISH SPEAKING*
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal within a law office setting with familiarity in diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, or litigation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently
- Excellent research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms
- Proficiency in legal case management software such as iManage and PCLaw; experience with document review systems is preferred
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with clarity and professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to proofread meticulously and perform transcription accurately
- Knowledge of UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), landlording-tenant laws, tribal regulations or patent law is a plus but not mandatory
- Experience supporting attorneys with administrative tasks including calendar management and executive administrative support functions
- Strong interpersonal skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- High level of attention to detail combined with excellent organizational skills to ensure accuracy in all tasks undertaken
