Join our dynamic legal team as a Legal Assistant, where your expertise will support a wide range of legal practices and ensure smooth case management. <Responsibilities>

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research across various practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, and more.
  • Assist with drafting legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Manage and organize case files using document management systems like iManage and LexisNexis; ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Support attorneys with project management tasks, including scheduling, deadline tracking, and coordinating client meetings or interviews.
  • Review legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance; perform proofreading and transcription as needed.
  • Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather pertinent case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents.
  • Provide administrative support such as data entry, filing, phone etiquette management, and maintaining organized office workflows.

<Requirements>

  • Proven paralegal or legal administrative experience in a law office setting with familiarity in multiple practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, or litigation.
  • Strong research skills using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities to ensure error-free work.
  • Experience with legal case management software like PCLaw or document management systems such as iManage.
  • Familiarity with contract review, document review processes, and data entry procedures.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including professional phone etiquette and effective interviewing techniques for client or witness interactions.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws including UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), tribal regulations, patent law procedures, and workers' compensation statutes is highly desirable.
