Legal Assistant / Billing Clerk

Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Billing Clerk to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support various legal practices, manage billing processes, and ensure the smooth operation of our law office. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for legal administrative work. You will play a vital role in assisting attorneys with case management, legal research, document review, and billing procedures, all while maintaining a positive and energetic approach to your daily tasks.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys.
  • Manage legal case files using management systems such as CARET Legal and Tratta.
  • Draft, proofread, and review legal documents such as pleadings, correspondence, and reports with precision and clarity.
  • Assist with billing processes or similar billing software; verify accuracy of billable hours and expenses.
  • Generate invoices accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with client agreements.
  • Support project management initiatives by organizing deadlines, tracking case progress, and maintaining detailed records.
  • Perform legal administrative tasks including proofreading, data entry, filing, and document review to ensure compliance with firm standards.
  • Maintain professional communication via phone etiquette; respond promptly to client inquiries and internal requests.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years experience in a law office environment.
  • Experience with legal case management systems is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, document management systems and billing software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated clerical experience including data entry, filing, document review, and administrative support functions.
  • Exceptional communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
