Title: OKC Legal Assistant- Family Law

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Family Law Senior Legal Assistant

Position Summary

The Legal Assistant – Family Law position supports attorneys by managing client files, coordinating meetings and managing dockets, and handling daily administrative tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines. Excellent client service is a must for this fast-paced legal environment.

Essential Job Duties

  • Assist attorneys to draft and prepare family law pleadings and documents such as legal pleadings, Discovery, and client/attorney correspondence.
  • Organize and maintain client files, with strong attention to detail.
  • Schedule and coordinate client appointments, attorney meetings and court dates.
  • Communicate with clients, legal professionals, and government offices via phone, email and mail.
  • Track deadlines and follow up on outstanding tasks and documents.
  • Provide administrative support such as scanning, copying, mailing, and data entry in addition to maintaining the client-facing presence and environment of the firm.
  • Travel to other firm locations, in the metro, to facilitate attorney/client meetings.

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Minimum Job Qualifications, Experience, Education and Training

Education: High school diploma with preference for associate or bachelor’s degree

Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), strong organization and attention to detail

Preferred Job Qualifications, Experience, Education and Training

Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Experience: Strong preference for at least 1 year in Legal Assistant role

Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), strong organization and attention to detail.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must be able to accomplish all duties with little to no assistance.
