Legal Assistant ( Lawyer assistant)

Position Overview:

The Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive support to lawyers and the legal department in managing legal documents, preparing case files, conducting legal research, and coordinating administrative tasks. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist lawyers in drafting, reviewing, and formatting legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Maintain and organize case files, legal records, and documentation in both physical and digital formats.
  • Conduct preliminary legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
  • Manage lawyers’ calendars, schedule client meetings, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and legal briefs under supervision.
  • Liaise with clients, courts, and external stakeholders as directed by the lawyer.
  • Handle administrative duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and document management.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with legal procedures and company policies.
  • Track case deadlines, hearings, and filing dates to ensure timely submissions.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related field (preferred).
  • Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or in a law firm/legal department (1–3 years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
