General Definition of Work
Performs skilled administrative support work providing administrative support to attorneys with case work, court proceedings, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor.

Essential Functions
Attends court proceedings to assist Prosecutor, Judge, and staff in the courtroom by organizing case flow and directing the proper scheduling of cases
Enters sensitive case data into the computer software to build the case files for prosecuting attorneys
Gathers evidence from multiple agencies to provide complete case files to prosecutors
Prepares and uploads discovery for prosecuting attorneys to provide defense attorneys and defendants
Analyzes case files to determine if exculpatory, confidential, or privileged information needs to be brought to the attention of the assigned prosecutor prior to serving discovery
Trained and certified to run criminal and driving histories by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Georgia Crime Information Center
Receives calls, ascertains nature of business, answers common questions for defendants, victims, witnesses, and defense attorneys, and directs the caller to the appropriate party when necessary
Enters a variety of dates into the computer during court proceedings to ensure accuracy and completeness of records
Closes cases and disposes of cases in accordance with the applicable laws and office policy
Prepares for court by ensuring that attorneys have all necessary paperwork to efficiently handle court calendars
Prepares jail arraignment cases in an expedited manner for attorneys to docket under time constraints
Encourages and promotes a culture of excellent service.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of related industry, organization and department policies, practices and procedures as well as a general knowledge of legal guides, recommendations and best practices; general knowledge of GCIC Policy and Procedures; ability to manage caseload and calendars to determine case count; general knowledge of GCIC, Tracker – Solicitor software, ICON – Clerk software, and OPCENTER – CCSO, NPD, and GPD software; general knowledge of standard office and receptionist procedures and the operation of a multi-line telephone; general knowledge of the functions and activities of the County; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, ability to speak clearly, understand and follow written and oral directions; ability to operate standard Office, computer and word processing equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, clients and the general public.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and considerable experience in administrative support and office operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires walking and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Special Requirements
Requires obtaining GCIC Operator Certification within 6 months of hire
Required to complete the CJIS Security and Policy Awareness Training, CJIS Network Operator Certification, and Georgia Law Enforcement Methods Switch Training within 6 months of hire
May require specific training depending upon departmental assignment.
Favorable background history as determined by review of local, State and Federal records.
