Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Small personal injury law firm seeks legal assistant to handle all aspects of the bodily injury claims process.

Setting up a bodily injury claim with the insurance carrier. Assist clients with their property damage. Review and organize medical records and bills, insurance correspondence, and settlement releases on behalf of clients.
Ability to clearly articulate and summarize the facts of the case and injuries/damages sustained by the client.
Calculate damages, including lost wages, property damages, and medical expenses.
Draft demand packages to insurance companies.

Preferred candidates will have a strong understanding of auto insurance claims, including property damage, bodily injury, liability, commercial, uninsured motorists, and personal injury protection. Must also have the ability to identify liability issues, maintain contact with clients, obtain and review medical and employment records, compile demand packages, and maintain file notes. Excellent grammar, proofreading, phone, computer, and organizational skills, as well as a positive attitude. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
