Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal with a background in elder law or estate planning to join our dynamic and expanding elder law firm. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable drafting legal documents, managing operations, and values flexible work arrangements. The position is primarily remote, with occasional requirements for on-site presence at our office or participation in events and presentations.
Key Responsibilities
· Draft, review, and finalize legal documents related to elder law and estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related materials.
· Assist attorneys with case management, client communication, and scheduling.
· Support firm operations such as file organization, document tracking, and maintaining client records.
· Coordinate and prepare materials for client meetings, workshops, community events, and presentations.
· Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
· Maintain confidentiality of client information and uphold the highest standards of professional ethics.
Qualifications
· Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in elder law or estate planning (required).
· Strong drafting skills for legal documents specific to elder law matters.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Comfortable with technology and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, legal practice management software).
· Availability for occasional on-site work or attendance at firm-sponsored events and presentations.
