Legal Assistant/Paralegal

<Overview>
Join our dynamic legal team as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal, where you will play a vital role in supporting attorneys across a diverse range of practice areas that include civil litigation, transactions, and estate planning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in meaningful legal work, contributing to the success of the firm. Candidates must be well organized, with excellent communication skills, detail oriented, and able to multi-task in a deadline driven environment. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage calendars and deadlines and be capable of drafting and formatting routine and complex litigation, transactional and estate planning documents and pleadings. Knowledge of legal case management software, MS Office Suite, Adobe, transcription, electronic court filing and maintaining electronic files is required. Salary dependent on experience with full benefits. <Responsibilities>

  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Manage legal case files and documents efficiently utilizing document management systems and ensure accurate data entry and filing.
  • Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy; perform proofreading and transcription to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Support litigation processes through document review, discovery coordination, and assisting with trial preparation.
  • Calendaring legal deadlines across multiple calendars.
  • Coordinate client interviews and gather pertinent information to facilitate case development while maintaining confidentiality.

<Qualifications>

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy law office environment.
  • Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy.
  • Experience with document review, and document management tools and e-filing systems.
  • Knowledge of project management principles to coordinate multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with legal case management software is preferred. Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis is also desirable.
