Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Legal Assistant/Secretary to join our team and work in the areas of Trust and Estates, Business Formation, Corporate Law and Real Estate Law. Monday-Friday; 9:00-5:00
Duties
- Keeping cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines.
- Answering telephone calls; maintaining client contact; scheduling meetings.
- Assisting attorneys with creating, formatting, and revising legal documents.
- Straight typing, and proofreading work for accuracy prior to returning to attorneys.
- Entering attorney time using SurePoint.
- Scanning and e-mailing documents.
Qualifications
- Have a minimum of 5 years of law firm experience.
- Be proactive and able to assist with the preparation of legal documents, including but not limited to: Wills and related Trust documents, Contracts, Agreements, Notices, Motions, Affidavits and provide attorneys with administrative support.
- Be able to be a proficient typist and have excellent spelling, grammar, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team member.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
