Legal Billing Specialist

Boutique law firm in Oakland, California, is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Billing Specialist to join our team. The candidate will have hands-on experience with legal billing and/or legal e-billing platforms This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, staff, vendors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit invoices through various e-billing systems (e.g., Serengeti, CounselLink, Tymetrix, Legal Tracker, Collaborati, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and resolve any rejections or discrepancies in a timely manner
• Track matter budgets, accruals, and billing deadlines as required by clients
• Generate reports on billing for management review
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of legal billing experience
• Proficiency with e-billing platforms (experience with multiple systems is a plus)
• Familiarity with time entry and financial management systems (e.g., Clio, Caret, Amicus, ProLaw)
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with attorneys, vendors, and clients professionally
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat

The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $75,000 depending on experience. The firm offers benefits and 401(k)/retirement benefits.
