In this essential role, you will manage personal injury cases from initial intake through resolution, coordinating between clients, attorneys, medical providers, and insurance carriers. Your attention to detail and client-focused approach will help injured clients navigate the legal process with confidence. If you have a background in personal injury law and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters including auto accidents, slip and fall, premises liability, and wrongful death cases.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular case updates and responding to inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Coordinate with medical providers to obtain records, bills, and treatment documentation; track outstanding records requests.
- Communicate with insurance adjusters, defense counsel, and third-party carriers regarding liability, coverage, and settlement negotiations.
- Organize and maintain case files using legal case management software; ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Draft demand letters, correspondence, medical chronologies, and case summaries for attorney review.
- Calculate and track special damages including medical expenses, lost wages, and out-of-pocket costs.
- Monitor statutes of limitations, court deadlines, and filing requirements to ensure timely action on all matters.
- Assist attorneys with litigation preparation including gathering evidence, coordinating depositions, and organizing trial materials.
- Conduct client intake interviews to gather accident details, injury information, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards and HIPAA requirements when handling medical and personal client information.
Experience
- Prior experience in a personal injury law firm as a case manager, paralegal, or legal assistant is required.
- Familiarity with the personal injury case lifecycle — from intake and investigation through demand, negotiation, and settlement or trial.
- Experience communicating directly with insurance companies, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
- Proficiency in legal case management software.
- Strong writing skills for drafting demand letters, medical summaries, and professional correspondence.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to review and summarize medical records accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while meeting all deadlines.
- Compassionate communication style suited to working with injured clients during difficult circumstances.
- Experience supporting litigation including deposition scheduling, evidence collection, and trial preparation is a plus.
