Legal & Compliance Specialist

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Legal & Compliance Specialist to oversee the full spectrum of legal and regulatory affairs, both corporate and real estate-related. This role requires deep knowledge of UAE legislation, including real estate law, labour law, corporate governance, and compliance frameworks.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring legal integrity across all business activities, including employee relations, lawsuits, developer contracts, and partnerships in the real estate industry.

Key Responsibilities

· Draft, review, and manage employment contracts, NDAs, and internal HR policies in line with UAE Labour Law.

· Provide legal guidance on employee disputes, terminations, and disciplinary actions.

· Represent the company or liaise with external counsel in labour disputes, litigation, and arbitration cases.

· Ensure compliance with new and existing UAE legislation, advising senior management of implications and legal risks.

· Maintain and update corporate legal records, company licenses, and government filings.

· Draft, review, and negotiate rental contracts, sales agreements, SPAs, MoUs, and developer contracts.

· Manage legal aspects of property transactions including due diligence, title checks, ownership transfers, and registration with authorities.

· Handle legal documentation for joint ventures, property acquisitions, and investment partnerships.

· Work closely with developers, brokers, tenants, and legal representatives to ensure lawful agreements.

· Oversee all contractual obligations across departments, ensuring legal enforceability and risk mitigation.

· Maintain a central contract management system for all agreements (real estate, HR, vendors, service providers).

· Ensure all dealings with stakeholders comply with UAE laws and industry best practices.

· Implement and monitor a compliance framework aligned with UAE regulatory standards, including AML/CTF, data protection, and anti-bribery policies.

· Conduct internal legal audits and risk assessments across departments.

· Provide periodic compliance reports and legal risk assessments to senior leadership.

· Educate internal teams on legal obligations, company policies, and regulatory changes.

· Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to legal, HR, and compliance matters.

· Act as primary point of contact for legal notices, disputes, and government communications.

· Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB); Master’s Degree (LLM) or local UAE legal certification is preferred.

· 5–8 years of legal and compliance experience, ideally in the UAE real estate or corporate sector.

· Proven experience handling UAE Labour Law, civil law, real estate contracts, and commercial litigation.

· Strong background in contract negotiation, compliance, and risk management.

· Fluency in English is essential; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.

Confident in handling litigation and interacting with external counsel or authorities.
