For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $101,600 - $152,400 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Legal Contract Manager
in one of the following Schneider Electric hub locations:
Boston, MA; Nashville, TN; Raleigh, NC; or Dallas, TX.
As a Legal Contract Manager, you will work as part of Schneider Electric Legal team supporting the Digital Buildings business with customer contract negotiations. If you have experience in construction trades contracting or software transactions, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
What will you do? / Responsibilities

Analyze and negotiate customer contracts in the construction trades sector, with potential for some exposure to software licensing agreements with customers. Provide edited clauses to align with Schneider Electric expectations and include thoughtful comments for customers to understand Schneider Electric’s position on unresolved issues. Key areas of concern include liability, indemnity, payment, termination rights, and insurance requirements.

Identify provisions in customer contracts that do not comply with Schneider Electric risk standards. Determine proper and efficient internal approval paths for such discrepancies. Interact with internal tools such as salesforce and export screening applications to properly document steps toward approval and finalization.

Work jointly with business personnel to prioritize workload, provide awareness of customer requirements, communicate effectively, and understand scope and additional concerns for specific client projects.

Examine internal processes and propose improvements to aid effectiveness and efficiency. Assist with implementation of new tools and procedures to increase team effectiveness.

Assist with creation of tools and training for internal stakeholders at Schneider Electric.

This position is for an individual contributor who can manage their assigned workload and timeframe expectations while also working collaboratively on a team to share and receive knowledge, insights, and lessons learned with colleagues.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role? / Skills

Significant experience negotiating and analyzing construction trades agreements, including provisions flowed down to Schneider Electric from higher tier (or prime) contracts.

Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new contract forms, developing areas of the law, and evolving internal processes.

Ability to working from customer templates and understand clauses that can be written in a variety of different ways.

Collaborative and helpful approach to working on a team.

Some in-house corporate legal / contracts compliance department experience within an industrial manufacturing company, global technology company, large public company, or rapidly scaling privately held organization.

Experience with Microsoft Office software.
Preferences

Five or more years of specialized legal experience in construction contract transactions, and prior in-house corporate legal / contracts experience within a construction trades contractor.

Exposure to software licensing contracts.
