Legal Counsel

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Corporate Counsel to manage all legal matters related to land and property transactions. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth and compliant real estate operations by handling property title verification, drafting agreements, coordinating registrations, offering legal opinions, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role requires deep knowledge of Tamil Nadu real estate laws and the ability to support internal teams and customers with legal clarity and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Property Documentation & Drafting
• Draft and review sale deeds, agreements, powers of attorney, MoUs, and contracts.
• Prepare legal documentation for layout approvals (DTCP/CMDA) and land transactions.
• Title Verification & Due Diligence
• Conduct thorough legal scrutiny of land and property titles.
• Verify ownership records, encumbrances, and approvals before transactions.
• Provide legal opinions on land titles, layout developments, and plotted projects.
• Registrations & Compliance
• Handle and coordinate property registrations at the Sub-Registrar’s office.
• Ensure compliance with RERA, local municipal regulations, and government norms.
• Liaise with government departments, legal consultants, and registration agents.
• Advisory & Support
• Support sales and CRM teams by addressing customer legal queries.
• Advise management on land acquisition, development, and legal risks.
• Keep the company updated on latest legal developments in real estate law.
• Record Management
• Maintain proper legal files, agreements, and case records.
• Ensure all contracts and property-related documents are safely archived.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in real estate law, preferably in property development/land transactions.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Land & property laws in Tamil Nadu.
• Registration processes, stamp duty, and legal documentation.
• RERA compliance and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills in English & Tamil (both written and verbal).
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualities

• Experience with DTCP/CMDA approvals and plotted development projects.
• Prior exposure to due diligence for land acquisitions.
• Ability to manage multiple legal matters under pressure.
• Client-focused approach with problem-solving and advisory mindset.
