Position Summary:

VB Spine is seeking one or more talented junior to mid-level Legal Counsel to join its expanding legal department. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside highly accomplished attorneys and contribute meaningfully to a wide range of commercial and corporate matters.

You’ll be part of a small, high-performing legal team in a hybrid role based in New York City, combining in-person collaboration and mentorship with flexibility and autonomy with room to take on increasing responsibility as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, customer, service, distribution, and confidentiality contracts.
• Provide day-to-day legal support across general corporate matters, governance, compliance, and contract management.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with business teams, including sales, operations, marketing, and finance to align legal risk with business goals.
• Help improve legal workflows, templates, and internal processes as the legal function continues to scale.
• Manage and coordinate with outside counsel on specialized matters as needed.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 2–6 years of legal experience, ideally with at least 1–2 years at a nationally recognized law firm.
• Strong experience in commercial contracts and general corporate legal matters.
• Excellent communication, judgment, and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
• A proactive, collaborative mindset and a desire to learn from and contribute to a strong legal team.

Compensation:

Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions. The typical pay range for this position is $180,000 – $250,000 annually, with potential for performance-based bonuses and incentives, plus benefits. Final compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
