NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is on a mission to make a carbon-free, climate-safe future a reality. We are building the world’s largest plant to produce green ammonia at scale, providing humankind with a cost-efficient solution that will accelerate the worldwide green hydrogen economy. Located in NEOM and supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, NGHC will be integrating up to 4GW of onshore solar and wind energy to supply up to 650 tons of green ammonia per day for transportation globally. Operations will go onstream in 2026. NGHC brings together the technology, operational efficiency and know-how of ACWA Power, Air Products and NEOM in a joint-venture partnership with over 80 years of combined experience in the fields of hydrogen, energy, renewables and global networks.


JOB DETAILS

Division: Legal Counsel.

REPORTS TO: Chief Legal Officer.

LIAISE/COOPERATE WITH: Commercial, Projects, EHS&S, HR, Finance.


POSITION SUMMARY

To provide legal and policy support to NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC).

NATURE & SCOPE

Provides legal support on issues concerning the rights and obligations of the organisation. Review commercial agreements.

Provide support on Board and governance related matters.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

Advisory

  • Participate in providing legal advice and recommendations on legal matters and support the decision-making process.
  • Assist in the negotiation and review of contracts and protect against legal exposure.
  • Participate in legal research projects related to policies, regulations and decisions in the Kingdom.
  • Ensure agreements are compliant with requirements of NGHC finance documents.
  • Assist the projects team with respect to claims under the EPC contracts
  • Coordinate with external counsel

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow all relevant existing functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • General compliance matters, including regulatory and compliance with requirements under NGHC finance documents.

Related Tasks

  • Perform any other related tasks and duties as directed.
  • Compliance matters.
  • Board and sub-committee affairs.
  • Admin matter (e.g. legal bills).



SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS:

  • High levels of communication (written and oral communication), strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a team as an internal service provider.
  • Demonstrate sound business and legal judgement.
  • Ability to explain complex, challenging issues in a clear manner.
  • Clear understanding and adherence to ethical principles, NGHC values and Code of Conduct.

MINIMUM YEARS EXCPERIENCE IN SIMILAR JOB ROLE:

Minimum of 5 to 7 years in a corporate environment or at a reputable regional or international law firm, where proficiency has been developed and demonstrated in relevant core competencies, including:

- Knowledge of KSA Legal System

- Contract review and drafting

- Business and Legal Writing in English

- Negotiation

- Legal Research

- Legal Communication

- Governance

- Compliance


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Admitted to practice law in KSA, England & Wales or USA
