Legal Counsel

Alpago Group is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide legal support across its Design & Build, Manufacturing, and related business units. The role will support the business by managing legal risk, advising on contracts and compliance matters, and ensuring alignment with UAE laws and regulations while enabling commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of contracts including Design & Build contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, supply agreements, NDAs, and MOUs.

• Provide legal advice to management, commercial, project, and procurement teams on contractual rights, obligations, and risk exposure.

• Support tendering activities by reviewing contractual terms, risk allocations, and deviations.

• Advise on claims, variations, disputes, and potential litigation; coordinate with external counsel where required.

• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE laws, regulations, and industry standards.

• Support corporate governance matters, including resolutions, powers of attorney, and internal policies.

• Assist with regulatory matters, licensing, and authority requirements where applicable.

• Support dispute avoidance strategies and provide early legal input to mitigate contractual and commercial risks.

• Maintain a contract database and ensure proper legal documentation and record-keeping.

• Monitor legal developments relevant to construction, employment, and commercial law and advise the business accordingly.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB); Master’s degree or professional legal qualification is an advantage.

• 6–10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within construction, engineering, real estate, or infrastructure sectors.

• Strong experience in UAE law; GCC experience is an advantage.

• Experience supporting Design & Build, construction contracts, or manufacturing operations is highly preferred.

• Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
