
Job Responsibilities
- To ensure that the activities of the Business Unit adhere to the legal framework and prevailing laws of the country and international trade
- Working closely with the Head of Dispute Resolution on strategic initiatives.
- To keep the management informed about any lawsuit filed and/or has a possibility of getting filed and try his/her best endeavor to settle the case amicably in favor of the Business Unit.
- To take legal action against a party who breaches a signed agreement; including but not limited to the contractors, consultants, designers, employees, clients, suppliers, brokers, business introducers etc.
- To review the contracts with Contractor/s, Consultant/s, Project Manager/s, Supplier/s, Sub contractor/s, Designer/s and Architect/s according to the construction laws and regulations and ensure that the benefit and rights of the Business Unit is fully reserved and secured.
- To issue legal notices, letters, warranties, guarantees etc if required, in a manner which serves the purpose of the documents without exposing the Business Unit to unnecessary risk and liability
- To review process, policies and governance for continuous improvement of Legal service levels.
Experience
- Minimum 7-10 years previous experience in law firms/corporations for similar position.
- Bachelor's Degree in Law. Admitted before Bar, Masters Degree is an asset.
- Knowledge of SOP, IMS & other standards
- Ability to plan & organize
- Supervisory skills
