Legal Counsel

Mackenzie Jones is currently supporting the leading international financial institution is looking to hire a Legal Counsel to support its Middle East & Africa operations from Dubai.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded legal professional looking to broaden their regional exposure across banking, corporate governance, regulatory advisory, outsourcing/vendor management and transactional matters within a highly respected international banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support across commercial, corporate, governance and banking-related matters across the MEA region

• Review and advise on vendor agreements, outsourcing arrangements, NDAs, SLAs and intercompany agreements

• Support front office and business teams on trade finance documentation, account opening documentation, corporate documentation and KYC-related matters

• Conduct legal and regulatory research across multiple jurisdictions and provide practical business-focused guidance

• Assist with implementation of legal policies, governance frameworks and regulatory initiatives across the region

• Liaise with external counsel and support management of legal spend, legal projects and regional governance matters

• Contribute to internal legal templates, processes, policies and best practice initiatives across the business

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years PQE gained within an international law firm and/or financial institution

• Strong exposure to banking & finance, commercial contracts, outsourcing/vendor management and regulatory advisory matters

• Experience supporting financial services or banking clients within the Middle East region preferred

• Exposure to corporate banking, trade finance and/or capital markets products would be advantageous

• Strong drafting, stakeholder management and communication skills

• A proactive, hands-on and commercially focused approach with the ability to operate effectively within a multicultural and fast-paced environment

• Arabic language skills would be beneficial but are not essential
