Legal Counsel (4-6yrs PQE) – Construction Disputes & Claims

We are representing a major developer delivering one of the Middle East's most ambitious large-scale development programmes.
As part of the in-house legal team, this role will provide strategic legal support across a portfolio of major construction and infrastructure projects, advising on contentious construction matters, claims, disputes, arbitrations and complex commercial agreements.
Working closely with project delivery, commercial, procurement and executive leadership teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing legal risk across multiple high-value developments and supporting the successful delivery of landmark projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Advise on contentious construction matters, including claims, disputes, arbitrations and settlements.
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of construction, commercial and project-related agreements.
• Support project teams on contract administration, claims management and dispute avoidance strategies.
• Provide practical legal advice on commercial, contractual and business risk.
• Manage external counsel and specialist legal advisers.
• Assist with dispute resolution, settlement negotiations and arbitration proceedings.
• Deliver training and guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual and legal matters.
• Work closely with procurement, commercial, development and project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
• Qualified solicitor, lawyer, attorney or barrister.
• Approximately 4–6 years' post-qualification experience .
• Strong contentious construction background gained within a recognised international or regional law firm.
• Experience advising on major construction, infrastructure, real estate or energy projects.
• Exposure to arbitration, adjudication, litigation and complex construction claims.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded with the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice.
• Previous Middle East experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
This represents an opportunity to move in-house and work on some of the region's most significant development and infrastructure programmes, providing direct exposure to major projects, senior stakeholders and complex legal matters from strategy through delivery.
