We’re supporting a leading global energy company in the search for a Legal Counsel to join their growing in-house team, advising on construction, procurement, and operations matters across large-scale renewable and infrastructure projects.

This is a key hire within a high performing legal function that partners closely with project delivery, engineering, procurement, and operations teams.

The role suits someone who enjoys being close to the business and helping drive complex projects from contracting through completion.

The Opportunity

You’ll provide legal support across the full lifecycle of energy and infrastructure projects, from procurement through construction and into operations. Working alongside project managers and senior stakeholders, you’ll help structure and negotiate major commercial contracts that underpin the delivery of multi-billion-dollar assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate major EPC, BOP, and supply agreements, as well as long-term service and logistics contracts
  • Advise on procurement strategies, risk allocation, and project delivery across wind, solar, and battery storage portfolios
  • Support cross-functional teams in construction, operations, and procurement on day-to-day contractual and commercial issues
  • Coordinate with external counsel on specialist matters (litigation, tax, insurance)
  • Maintain and improve contract templates and playbooks for consistency and efficiency

About You

  • JD (or equivalent) and licensed (or eligible) to practice in Texas or New York
  • 5+ years’ experience in front-end construction, infrastructure, or procurement law (law firm or in-house)
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, ideally with exposure to EPC or major project agreements
  • Excellent commercial judgment and ability to balance risk with business objectives
  • Collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented

Why Apply

  • Work on some of the most impactful energy projects in North America
  • Join a legal team known for its pragmatic, business-focused culture
  • Competitive compensation package (New York lockstep equivalent)
  • Hybrid working environment with exposure to major cross-functional projects
