Legal Counsel – Corporate & Commercial

About the Role:

Investment and Development Office (IDO) - Ras Al Khaimah is seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our Legal and Risk team to work on corporate and commercial matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with UAE private practice experience gained at international law firms who is looking to transition to a dynamic in-house role or for existing UAE-based in-house lawyers looking to make a move.

As Legal Counsel, you will report directly into a Senior Legal Counsel and will play a key role in managing legal risk across the IDO (all functions and the Board) and its portfolio of companies and entities (across all sectors) as well as their investments, projects and assets (together the “IDO Group”). You will act as legal adviser to the IDO Group in respect of corporate and commercial matters. The role involves providing legal advice across a wide range of legal disciplines and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations across the IDO Group.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution.
• Qualified common law solicitor with active and current membership from a recognized legal association or regulatory body from a common law jurisdiction.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience at a reputable international law firm in the UAE.
• Strong background in general corporate and commercial law.
• Experience managing external legal resources and handling high-value transactions.
• Proactive, independent, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• UAE in-house experience preferred.
• Desire to move to an impactful in-house legal role.
