Legal Counsel- Corporate Lawyer

Colas Rail Egypt is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support to its operational departments in the railway sector, including the construction and maintenance of railroad lines and metro systems. The role involves analyzing legal documentation for public tenders, drafting and negotiating contracts, and offering day-to-day legal advice on various aspects of Egyptian law. The Legal Counsel will also support HR on labor issues, coordinate compliance programs, and manage litigation strategies in collaboration with local and international teams. This position requires close integration with the local legal team under the supervision of the Country Director, while reporting to the International Legal Manager and the Legal Department in Paris, ensuring adherence to the group's ethical standards and risk management principles.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Regarding projects:
Analysis of legal documentation for public tenders in order to identify the main legal risks and opportunities- ; Draft, review and negotiate in relation with the commercial, technical and financial teams, all type of contracts relating to the execution of projects (such as supply agreements, subcontracts, services providers agreements)
- ; Draft, review and negotiate contracts to be concluded with partners (such as consortium agreement, joint venture)

Day-to-day legal advise:
Provide day-to-day comprehensive legal advice to the operation team and the Country Director, covering various aspects of Egyptian law- ; Offer support and guidance to the HR department concerning legal matters related to labor and employment

Concerning litigation:
Analysis of the issues and development of a litigation strategy in coordination with the Contract Management teams as well as with the Legal Department in Paris- ; coordination with external counsels

In terms of corporate management:
- Management of formalities for the local entity in coordination with the corporate team based in France
- . All this ensuring compliance with the group's principles in terms of risks and contractual commitments, and in terms of Ethics and Compliance

Desired Experience and Qualifications
Educaton:
Bachelor Law Degree (a Master degree is a plus)
Experience:
Between 6 – 8 years (4 or 6 years’ experience in the construction or industrial sector is a plus)
Language Requirements:
Arabic & English is a must, French is a plus.

Important references on the turnkey project of New El Marg have been acquired for Track and for Catenary.
Colas Rail Egypt is involved in all stages of the project from the Engineering to Maintenance phase, including procurement, construction, testing and commissioning and it is currently working on the construction of the Cairo Line 4 and of the Abu Qir metro line in Alexandrie.
