Legal Counsel - Corporate Litigations

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose:

To participate in handling complex matters related to the field of law. Jobholder will provide expert legal services in complex legal assignments. Jobholder will also demonstrate increasing competence in applying legal skills and departmental practices, plus evidence of maturity and judgment to help analyse and solve corporate legal problems, dealing with internal and external parties accordingly


Key Accountabilities:

  • Follow all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the area of work, ensuring compliance with the established standards and procedures.
  • Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to subordinates and inter-company departments and business units, while maintaining work balance.
  • Prepare, review and manage legal issue and lawsuits, attend hearings and write legal reports.
  • Represent the corporate in curt or govemment agencies (s the case may require) and present evidence if needed to defend the corporation in criminal, civil or commercial litigation.
  • Prepare and review agreements and contracts as well as legal drafting and vetting of govemment and commercial contracts and agreements, maintaining accurate and up-to-date-data.
  • Advise and provide various business sector with key legal consideration, enhancing the decision the decision-making process.
  • Review develop agreements and internal policies, ensuring that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
  • Provide legal protection and risk management advice to the management especially on contract management.
  • Advice the corporation in general corporate matters such as major business transaction.
  • Liaise with internal departments and SBU's in operational and technical issues.
  • Monitor the regulatory and legal compliance of the corporation and SBU's.
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department guaranteeing employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/ service and responsible environmental attitude.


Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Law or any relevant discipline is required
  • Advanced English language proficiency is required


Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of work experience with at least two of which in a relevant function
