Legal Counsel – Healthcare Sector

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including agreements related to healthcare services, insurance, vendors, and technology solutions.
  • Provide legal advice and support on compliance with applicable healthcare laws, insurance regulations, data protection/privacy requirements, and corporate governance standards.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on risk management, dispute resolution, and legal implications of business decisions.
  • Support regulatory filings, licensing, and compliance matters with healthcare authorities.
  • Support M&A transactions, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives with legal due diligence and documentation.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the healthcare sector and ensure proactive compliance.
  • Manage relationships with external law firms and advisors, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality service.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies impacting regulatory risks, procedures, and international leading regulatory best practices across local and international jurisdictions.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized university (Master’s degree or additional qualifications in healthcare law, insurance, or data protection is a plus).
  • 5–7 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably in-house with a healthcare/insurance company or at a reputable international law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance frameworks, and data protection/privacy laws.
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
