Provide advice to business teams in US and other American countries on compliance aspects of the implementation of commercial agreements, business models and strategies, business operations, marketing activities, and product offerings.
Monitor and analyze laws and regulations of the US and other American countries that have an impact on Alibaba's business, and implement internal compliance enhancement.
Advise on regulatory compliance of the platform’s international expansion of current and proposed new e-commerce offerings (such as trade policy, platform liabilities, data compliance, product safety and IP).
Manage outside counsel.
Develop in-house compliance tools and policies, and conduct training for business units.
Negotiate, draft, and review contracts and commercial agreements and platform rules and notices.
Qualifications
Familiar with US law; Legal license to practice in US.
At least 6 years of post-qualification experience at a leading law firm and/or corporation. In-house experience is mandatory (e-commerce/tech-related is preferred).
Proficiency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) is mandatory.
Highly motivated and able to work independently and under pressure in a start-up environment.
Sincere interest in technology, innovation and business. Strong commercial sense with solid foundation in compliance training.
High integrity and desire to collaborate with others.
