Legal Practice Assistant (LPA)

We are looking for a skilled Legal Practice Assistant to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role involves providing comprehensive administrative support for litigation processes, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional client service. As this is a long-term contract position, the ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in legal procedures, court filings, and client billing while maintaining a proactive and organized approach to their work.

Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support for litigation activities, including discovery, trial preparation, and document filing in both State and Federal courts.
• Coordinate the preparation, editing, and submission of legal documents, correspondence, and case binders.
• Manage client billing processes, including time entry, invoice preparation, and ensuring compliance with client billing requirements.
• Collaborate with attorneys to open new matters, conduct conflict checks, and support client development efforts.
• Partner with the Billing team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices.
• Handle complex administrative tasks, such as reviewing submissions and reports, and coordinating their distribution.
• Develop a thorough understanding of attorneys' practice areas and proactively address team needs.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive client information and attorney records.
• Provide overflow support to the administrative legal team when required.
• Liaise with internal and external resources to manage workflow and complete assigned projects effectively.
• Extensive knowledge of litigation practices and procedures, including Federal and State court rules.
• Proficiency in electronic filing systems and managing court filings.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and vendors.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant legal software.
• Ability to work independently with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Experience in calendar management and civil litigation processes.
