We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain legal case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, correspondence, and reports with precision and clarity.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other resources to support case preparation across diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and more.
- Assist attorneys with legal case management by organizing evidence, preparing discovery documents, and tracking deadlines.
- Coordinate client interviews and meetings by scheduling appointments, preparing agendas, and documenting proceedings.
- Perform data entry tasks related to case information while maintaining meticulous records of filings, court documents, and correspondence.
- Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, answering phones with professional etiquette, and handling general clerical duties such as filing and transcription.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal administrative role within a law office setting.
- Strong knowledge of legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Familiarity with legal case management software such as iManage and PCLaw is highly preferred.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents and proofread meticulously.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, UCC law, litigation procedures, and contract review.
- Strong interpersonal skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with clients and team members.
