Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain legal case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case development across diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, immigration law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, and litigation.
- Assist attorneys with document review and data entry tasks related to legal case management and litigation processes.
- Schedule appointments, client meetings, court dates, and coordinate logistics for hearings or depositions while maintaining organized calendars.
- Provide executive administrative support including answering phones with professional etiquette, managing correspondence, and handling confidential information discreetly.
- Support the team with transcription services and proofreading legal documents to ensure accuracy before submission or filing.
Experience
- Proven paralegal experience or legal administrative experience in a busy law office environment.
- Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Experience managing legal case management software including iManage and PCLaw.
- Knowledge of various practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, immigration law, tribal regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant issues, and litigation procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence and legal documents; proofreading and transcription experience is highly valued.
- Ability to perform detailed document review and data entry accurately while maintaining high standards of confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette; adept at interviewing clients or witnesses when necessary. Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
