Liability Legal Claims Adjuster (People and Internal Operations)

This position involves advanced specialized work managing and processing claims. Employees in this class manage complex litigated liability claims represented by legal counsel. Monitor claims for proper reserve amount. Require accurate and timely investigation, evaluation, and negotiation of third-party claims for automobile, general liability, and police professional claims. Attend depositions, mediations, and trials as representative of Miami-Dade County in all legal proceedings.

The People and Internal Services Department (PIOD) provide a wide range of internal support services for the ongoing operation of County government which focuses on promoting operational best practices and efficient government operations. PIOD provides various customer-based business services that include, but not limited to facility management, design and construction management, fleet management, risk management, surplus property disposition services, capital inventory management, and large-scale printing services. Through these various business lines, PIOD is engaged in real estate development and management, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, elevator regulation, materials management, and parking services.
