Job Position: Librarian

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for setting up the library and accurately coding all books for easy access and organization.
• Maintain detailed records of book borrowing to ensure accurate tracking of library resources.
• Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed by students upon entering the library, maintaining order and conducive study environment.
• Ensure cleanliness of the library premises and oversee the effective use of air-conditioners as needed to provide a comfortable atmosphere for patrons.
• Regularly update the Library Management System (LMS) with new acquisitions, withdrawals, and other relevant information to keep the database current and accessible.
• Perform any academic duties as directed by the Campus Head to support the educational objectives of the institution.
• Assist students in locating relevant reading materials and references for their research projects and academic pursuits.
• Address student inquiries and provide assistance via phone or email regarding library resources, services, and policies.
• Research and recommend new information system techniques and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of library operations.
• Any other administration related aspect which may be delegated by the campus head from time to time.

Requirements and skills:

• A degree in Library Science; a Bachelor's in Library Science or Information Management is must.
• Previous experience as a librarian
• Experience using computers and working with electronic databases
• Familiarity with information management systems
• Strong organizational skills
• Effective communication
• Ability to multitask
• A patient and friendly personality
