Librarian

Title: Librarian

Intelligence Federal seeks a Librarian to support a federal government agency. The librarian will perform a wide range of duties involving both public and technical services, including reference, user instruction, library programming, collection development, interlibrary loan, and circulation. Librarians frequently host trainings and presentations for virtual and in-person audiences, as well as to aid staff who wish to utilize the historic Reading Room as an event venue.

Location: Central Washington, DC. On-site five (5) days per week.

Job Duties Include:

• Provide resources and research support to agency employees
• Responsible for general reference and document retrieval questions. Provide instruction to library users on basic research strategies in the use of the library’s database.
• Responsible for planning, scheduling, and marketing library presentations and trainings.
• In charge of maintaining accurate and complete records for all interlibrary loan transactions. Ensures the timely return of all borrowed materials to the lending libraries.
• Perform shared office duties, including answering phones, checking out materials, and interacting with patrons

Requirements:

• Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust Clearance
• Masters Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association
• One to Two (1-2) years of professional library experience
• Six months to one year of experience in event management is preferred
• Previous experience using Ex Libris Alma/Primo
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based office environment

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
