Job Description and Duties
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction, the Librarian is responsible for applying the basic philosophy, principles and theories of library service in the operation of a Correctional Facility Library with a limited number of inmate or non inmate workers.
Working Conditions
Registration as a graduate student in a library school accredited by the American Library Association will admit applicants to the examination, but they must submit evidence of completion before they can be considered eligible for appointment.
Applicants must possess a master’s degree in library science or bachelor’s degree with completion of one additional year of graduate study in a library school accredited by the American Library Association. Applicants must include a copy of their unofficial college transcripts or degree with their Examination Application (STD. 678) for verification.
