Assists in coordinating, planning, and developing services for children and teens. Plans, prepares, and presents story time classes, as well as special events and activities. Provides research, collection development, and readers’ advisory services for babies, toddlers, school-age children, teens, and parents. Direction may be provided to paraprofessional staff and youth volunteers. Conducts tours of the Library; represents the Library at schools and in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:

A Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS) accredited by the American Library Association (ALA).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

Experience with public library children and teen services,
Experience with storytelling,
Bookstore experience,
Experience with applicable technologies, software, applications, and devices (must specify on application),
Knowledge of children’s literature (must specify on application), and
Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
