Librarian II (Mirror Lake Community Library Coordinator)

This is advanced professional and supervisory library work in coordinating a community library of the St. Petersburg Library System. Work involves coordinating the delivery of library services and programs for a community library within downtown St. Petersburg and serving a very diverse population. Work includes supervision of personnel engaged in customer service, lending of materials, program delivery and community engagement for all ages. This position is responsible for the training, appraisal, and performance management of assigned employees. Work requires continuous, effective public contact; the exercise of considerable patience, tact and diplomacy; considerable independent judgment, flexibility and initiative in scheduling, assigning and coordinating work with that of other library divisions; and participation in the Library’s evening and weekend schedule rotation.

Salary: $61,736 - $98,425

To Qualify


Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:

  • Have a valid Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited college or university.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.
  • Have significant professional experience in library services, including circulation, customer care and patron account matters, as well as adult and youth library programming and services and collection development.
  • Have three (3) or more years of progressive, professional, supervisory library experience.
  • Be willing and able to work a rotating schedule that includes evening and weekends.
  • Have the ability to travel between library facilities within the same shift, as needed for work assignments and meetings.

Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:

  • Have demonstrable experience working in multi-location urban library systems, engaging with diverse communities and fostering inclusive, accessible services.
