The University Library is seeking to hire a Library Assistant II on a part-time (20 hours a week) basis at our Dunwoody campus.
The scope of the responsibilities will include these essential duties, but is not limited to the following:
Completes basic circulation functions, such as checking in/out and renewing library materials and spaces.
Answers patron questions in-person or by phone regarding library services, resources, and general campus queries.
Manage patron records, including updating account information and communicating notes to other users, providing status updates for items on loan and requested materials, and reinstating/restricting borrowing privileges.
Explain and enforce library policies and procedures.
Processing call slips.
Participate in professional development and departmental committees, meetings/trainings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED and one year of library, customer service, or office experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Requirements:
One year of library and/or customer service experience.
Familiarity with the use of computers in an office setting.
Knowledge of library circulation processes in an automated environment.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $35,600 – $42,700.
Salary offers will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications in relation to the Minimum Hiring Standards. Candidates earlier in their careers are typically offered salaries closer to the minimum of the hiring range, while those with more advanced or relevant experience may be considered for compensation at or above the hiring range.
