Pay Rate: $12.31 per hour
Reports To: Library Teacher and Building Administration
The School Library Associate supports the daily operations of the school library and fosters a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages student learning, reading, and research. Under the supervision of a certified librarian and building administration, the Library Associate assists with circulation, shelving, technology support, and library programming.

Assist students and staff in locating and using library materials, resources, and technology.

Perform circulation duties including checking in/out materials,shelving books, and maintaining accurate records.

Support and supervise student use of computers, online databases, and audiovisual equipment.

Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe library

Process new books and materials, including cataloging, labeling, and

Support the librarian in organizing special programs, reading challenges, author visits, and book
-
Monitor student behavior and enforce library rules.

Repair damaged books and handle basic troubleshooting of library technology.

Maintain inventory and assist with eliminating outdated or damaged materials.

Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and preparing reports as needed.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by executing school emergency procedures and protocols effectively during drills and real emergencies.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a school or public library setting is desirable.

Proficiency with computers, basic office software, and library systems (e.g., Follett Destiny).

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Comfortable working with Jr/Sr high students in an educational setting.
The qualified applicant must also have one of the following:

Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or
-
Obtained an Associates (or higher) degree; or
-
Obtained voluntary Para certification through the Board of Educational Examiners; or
-
Obtained an NCRC (National Career Readiness Certificate, Bronze Level)
- Qualified applicants are required to complete the NCRC before starting in the school district if one of the following is not already met.Proof of above will be required during the hiring process.
