The Collinsville Library - Teen Library Associate is passionate about connecting teens, caregivers, and educators with resources that inform, inspire, and empower. The Teen Associate supports the ongoing development and physical maintenance of the teen collection, ensuring it remains current, relevant, and appealing. This role also plans and delivers creative, engaging programs that foster learning, curiosity, and community connection.
With a strong focus on customer experience, the Teen Associate anticipates trends, identifies opportunities to improve workflow, and proactively connects customers with the full range of services offered by TCCL. From welcoming guests to educating, guiding, and recommending resources, this position ensures every teen and family member has an extraordinary and meaningful library experience.
Collinsville Library is around the corner from Collinsville Middle School making it a go-to after-school hangout spot for local tweens and teens. Collinsville is the second fastest growing town in Oklahoma.
Library Associate - Teen Associate
Location: Collinsville Library 1223 W. Main Collinsville, OK. 74021
Status: Part Time - 20hr./week
Salary: $21.10 / hour
Schedule:
Monday 9:30am - 6:00pm
Tuesday 11:30am - 6:00pm
Thursday 1:20pm - 8:00pm
First and third Saturday 8:30am - 5pm, rotating off Monday
Occasional Sundays at Regional Library 1pm-5pm
Key Essential Functions:
- Presents programs for youth in anticipation of or response to customer interest or needs;
- Helps develop and maintain the tweens and teens collection at the Jenks library;
- Conducts community outreach, which may include services to schools, day care facilities, and community organizations;
- Prepares displays to augment youth services and to promote the collection and programs;
- Maintains and operates AV equipment, computers, office machines, and other library hardware and software;
- May serve as Person in Charge of the location as needed; directing tasks of Customer Service Assistants, Shelvers and volunteers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors’ degree required.
- No previous experience required; library, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
The job occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional light lifting, such as three or four reams of paper, four for five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds) may be required.
There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less than optimal temperature and air conditions. The job may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, such as occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of video display terminals.
